Hello Jamyang

Charlotte’s story

Hello and welcome to this space. My name is Charlotte, and I am a qualified sound therapist. I’ve created this offering from my own lived experience, deep care and a genuine belief in the power of sound to help you achieve rest, self regulation and healing.

Music has always been a deep and instinctive part of who I am. From a young age, I felt a strong emotional connection to sound, one that went far beyond simply listening. I learned the saxophone, taught myself piano, studied music technology at A-level and spent years creating music purely for the joy of it. I discovered I could naturally pick up instruments, had a strong sense of rhythm and felt most myself when immersed in sound.

Alongside this passion, I grew up feeling different… like I never quite fit into the world around me. I tried hard to find my place, pushing myself relentlessly throughout school and later university. That pressure, combined with unresolved childhood trauma, eventually led me to turn to alcohol as a way of coping. At the same time, I was becoming increasingly aware of the toll this was taking on my mental, emotional and physical well-being.

A turning point came when I moved to Lithuania. There, surrounded by vast landscapes and deep stillness, I reconnected to myself through nature in a profound way. Through isolation, simplicity and time outdoors, I began to self-heal. Nature became my teacher — grounding me, calming my nervous system and helping me rediscover who I truly was beneath anxiety, low confidence and social overwhelm.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to work with children. Perhaps shaped by my own struggles within a system that often felt like a “one size fits all” approach. Later, this evolved into a strong calling to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. I carefully shaped my studies and qualifications around this path and spent four unforgettable years teaching English in Lithuania before returning to the UK to work in various SEND roles.

Although deeply rewarding, witnessing the strain and shortcomings of the education system slowly became overwhelming. I reached a point where I knew something needed to change. Not because I had lost my passion for helping others, but because I needed to channel it in a more sustainable, healing way.

Sound therapy opened that door.

With the loving support of my dad, I embarked on training to become a qualified sound therapist, a journey that transformed my life far beyond anything I expected. Alongside my professional training, I experienced profound personal healing: releasing old wounds, reconnecting with my higher self and discovering a deep sense of purpose. Everything finally came together — my love of music, my sensitivity, my understanding of trauma, my work with SEND and my connection to nature.

Today, I live a life rooted in peace, joy and meaning. Sound therapy isn’t just something I offer; it’s something I live and deeply believe in.

My experiences allow me to hold a safe, compassionate space for others. If you’re simply in need of rest or feel overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected, I understand what it feels like to struggle and I also know how powerful gentle, nervous-system-based healing can be.
